MSAVI (Modified Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index)
Calculation:
- MSAVI = SAVI with L = 1 - 2 * s * NDVI * WDVI
- s = slope of soil line
- WDVI = NIR - s * R
Second index:
- <math>MSAVI2 = \frac{[2*NIR+1 - \sqrt{(2*NIR + 1)^2 - 8 * (NIR - R)}]}{2}</math>
Characteristics:
- ratio-based index,
- limited range: -1<MSAVI<1,
- L not a priori but calculated
